The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

The Key that Unlocks the Mystery

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” –John 11:25

They thought they had planned the perfect murder––the fake High Priest planned the perfect murder of the True High Priest. They thought they had the perfect plan––Judas a disciple of Jesus would betray Him at night and avoid a riot from crowds. They thought they had the perfect cover-up––forcing Pilate to condemn Jesus for treason against Rome. They didn’t realize, it wasn’t really Jesus on trial––they placed themselves on trial. Their perfect plan led to their own destruction, and Satan’s victory was actually his defeat. Jesus rose from the dead and defeated Satan, sin and death forever.

The Wrath of God

“Eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil…” (Romans 2:7)

Day after day, month after month, year after year our senses are shocked by the senseless violence and wickedness of mankind. Sadly, there are some things that are so heinous that the only proper response is anger. In fact, not only would anger be the only proper response––a lack of anger would be wrong.
To realize this is to better understand the wrath of God––wrath is the holy revulsion of God’s being against evil. The wrath of God is often misunderstood, but it is real, it is pure, it is personal, it is perfect, it is revealed and it is demonstrated. This lesson examines how God’s wrath is perfect just as His love, holiness and justice is perfect.

God is Light

Aristotle wrote: “All men by nature desire to know.” We desire to know the truth of who God is. And only when we know who God is will be be able to understand who we are, and what God has created us for. Let us embark on the greatest adventure of all, the adventure of knowing God.

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:5-7)

God is Light and we are called out of darkness as children of light to reflect the light of His Glory in a dark world.

God is Spirit

Will Rodgers, upon meeting someone once said: “I don’t like that man, I’m going to get to know him better.” Sometimes we know one another without REALLY knowing one another. We might know someone without really knowing them personally. Sometimes we just need to get to know each other better.
This can happen with the most important relationship of all –– God. Israel thought they knew God and made some wrong assumptions about Him. God responded to them saying, “These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you…” (Ps 50:21).
God created us to know Him and He gives eternal life to those who do know Him! Jesus said to the Father in prayer, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3) Let’s strive to Know God better.

God is Faithful

SERIES: Knowing God. A question of faith is addressed throughout the Bible: Can We Trust God? It was a question encountered in the Garden of Eden, and when Abraham was asked to offer his son. It was a question encountered in the wilderness, and in an Egyptian prison. It was encountered by Job, by the disciples and even at times by ourselves… Can we trust Him with our Life, our Eternity, our Everything? The good news is yes! God is always faithful.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22–23

God is 100% Faithful, 100% trustworthy, 100% of the time.
