LUKE | Jesus’ Sermon on Plain

Values of the Kingdom vs. Values of the World.

“We stand at the crossroads, each minute, each hour, each day making choices. We choose the thoughts we allow ourselves to think, the passions we allow ourselves to feel, and the actions we allow ourselves to perform. Each choice is made in the context of whatever value system we’ve selected to govern our lives. In selecting that value system, we are, in a very real way, making the most important choice we will ever make.” – Benjamin Franklin

Singing Praises to God

Rejoice! We are at liberty to sing in praise of our final atonement in Christ! Not only is singing without musical instruments commanded, it is THE very sign from the scriptures that Christ is our final atonement. If the final atonement for sin has not been paid in full, then we are still commanded to use musical instruments and animal sacrifices according to the Old Testament pattern. LUKE | The Pharisees Confront Jesus

In this sermon we examine two controversies…
(1) The Conflict Between the Pharisees and Jesus over the Sabbath.
(2) The Controversy Today of how this passage is misused and misunderstood.

Hint: Jesus never broke God’s law, He was without sin (Heb. 4:14–15). But Jesus did not obey the Pharisees man-made laws, and that only made them hate Him more. Luke 6:1–11 | AUDIO | TEXT PDF
