Built on Solid Rock 2 – GOD

In the beginning, God

“Christianity does not begin with ‘Jesus saves you from your sins’. It starts with ‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.’ (Francis Schaffer)

Christianity is more than a Bible tract, it is a comprehensive account of the structure of reality, from before time began, to when time will be no more. AUDIO | TEXT PDF

Built on Solid Rock 1 – FOUNDATIONS

The Bible Big Picture of Reality

“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen; not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” –C.S. Lewis

This is the beginning of a new sermon series called Built on Solid Rock: The Bible Big Picture of Reality.

Everyone sees the world through a worldview – but most haven’t investigated their sub-structure deep enough to know what their worldview is built upon. Jesus reveals this when He spoke of two men who built upon two different foundations, one of solid rock and the other on shifting sand. What foundation is your life built on? Only the rock of Truth has an eternal foundation. (Matthew 7:24–27) AUDIO | TEXT PDF

I want to share my appreciation for an excellent overview of Christian evidences by Greg Koukl, professor of Christian Apologetics at BIOLA University. The main points of this lesson are adapted from his book ‘The Story of Reality’ by Greg Koukl. Living Life in Light of Eternity

How to Find True Happiness and Joy

In this final sermon on Wisdom for the Storms of Life, we find a poetic metaphor of the aging process in Ecclesiastes chapter 12 that we will all face one day. However, Solomon no longer associates death with vanity but with eternity. God’s people have a future and a hope beyond this life.

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Small Choices Can Have Large Outcomes

“We stand at the crossroads, each minute, each hour, each day making choices. We choose the thoughts we allow ourselves to think, the passions we allow ourselves to feel, and the actions we allow ourselves to preform. Each choice is made in the context of whatever value system we’ve selected to govern our lives. In selecting that value system, we are, in a very real way, making the most important choice we will ever make.” – Benjamin Franklin

In Ecclesiastes chapter 10, Solomon gives us instructions for making wise decisions in life, because it is decisions that determine destiny. | AUDIO | TEXT PDF
