The Wisdom of God

Knowing God Whose Wisdom is Infinite

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
––Romans 11:33

We live in an information age––but not an age of wisdom. Many seek knowledge, success, power, prestige, but few seek wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to see beyond the apparent, to that which is real; beyond the temporary to that which is eternal.
Wisdom is unique because true wisdom is from above––wisdom is of divine origin from God Himself.
In this study we examine the wisdom of God described, displayed and given to those who seek and ask. Let’s study the divine attribute of God’s wisdom. May the Lord bless you in your study of Him!

God is Infinite

Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding in infinite.

Psalm 147:5

SERIES: KNOWING GOD. We are studying the amazing attributes of God and the greatest knowledge of God is from from God Himself through His holy word. As we study to know God, without emphasizing any one divine attribute as more or less important than the others, for all His attributes are holy and eternal––but if we were to pick one to begin with, one that can describe all others, it is that God is Infinite.

God the Creator

Knowing God Our Creator

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:1-2

SERIES: KNOWING GOD. Moses was taught two competing and conflicting world-views. One from Pharaoh’s household––the other from his own family. One world-view was based on Egyptian origin myths –– the other based on the truth of God. Moses believed the truth––and the truth set him free.
Just like Moses, we also were told two competing world views. And just like Moses, we have a choice––to Accept the truth by faith, or to reject the truth for the lies and myths of the world. Only the Truth will set you free!

Attributes of God

‘Too Wonderful For Me’

Sermon Series: KNOWING GOD. Psalm 139 is an amazing realization from David on the attributes of God. Not only are God’s attributes infinite, they are personal. Not only is God all-knowing, He knows you. Not only is God all-powerful, He created you. Not only is God all-present, He is present with you. This is why David was so amazed by God.

You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.

Psalm 139:5-6

Our Knowledge of God

The Knowledge of God Revealed to Us in Three Ways

With a new year we have a new focus––Knowing God.
In this series we first looked at 5 Tragic Results of Not Knowing God. In the second lesson we recognized 5 Blessings of Knowing God. But How Can We Know God? “who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see…” (1 Timothy 6:16)
God is Transcendent––far above human comprehension. But He has revealed Himself for those who want to know Him. Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.” (Matthew 11:25)

The knowledge of God is revealed to us in 3 main ways: 1. His Creation 2. His Revelation 3. His Incarnation. The best knowledge of God is from God Himself!
