Who is Jesus? a good teacher? a good person who taught us good things? It has been said that the decisions we make in this life echo into eternity. Not all decisions have eternal consequences, but your decision to this question will determine your eternal destiny (John 8:51-58). | AUDIO | TEXT PDF
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” –John 10:11
The image of a shepherd is woven throughout Israel’s history. Moses was a shepherd for 40 years before leading Israel out of Egyptian slavery. David was a shepherd before becoming king of Israel. Jesus refers to Himself as the Good Shepherd who guides and protects and even gave His life for His sheep. But not all shepherds are good shepherds. Let’s study how Jesus is the good shepherd in contrast to those who are wolves in sheep’s clothing. | AUDIO | TEXT PDF
Providing peace with God, peace with ourselves and peace with others
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
A man fell into a pit and couldn’t get himself out... A BUDDHIST said: “Your pit is only a state of mind.” A HINDU said: “This pit is there to make you a better person.” A PROFESSOR: “If you would’ve listened to me, you’d never have fallen into that pit.” A SUBJECTIVE person came along and said: “I FEEL for you, down there.” An OBJECTIVE person said: “It’s logical that someone would fall, down there.” A NEW AGE PERSON said: “You only THINK that you are in a pit.” A PHARISEE said: “Only BAD people fall into a pit.” A FUNDAMENTALIST said: You DESERVE your pit.” A CALVINIST: That was no accident, You were PREDESTINED to fall in that pit.” A NARCISSIST said: “that’s nothing, you should see my pit.” A REALIST said: “Yep, that’s a pit.” An IDEALIST said: “The world shouldn’t have pits.” An OPTIMIST said: “Things could be worse.” A PESSIMIST said: “Things WILL Get Worse.” But Jesus seeing the man caught in a pit, grabbed his hand and pulled him out.
